Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 8, 2026
This policy explains what the CopyPile app for macOS and the copypile.app website do with your data. CopyPile is made by Lexira Yazılım Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. ("Lexira", "we").
The short version
What you copy stays on your Mac. CopyPile never stores it on disk and never sends it anywhere. The app sends two kinds of usage events, tagged with a random ID that is not tied to you, so we know how many people use it, and nothing else.
What you copy
CopyPile keeps the text you copy in memory while it is running, so it can paste it back for you. It is never written to disk and never sent over the network. An item is removed when you paste it, when you empty CopyPile, or when you turn CopyPile off, and everything is gone when you quit the app. Switching between Pile and Queue mode keeps your items and only changes the order they are pasted in.
Settings
Your preferences (Pile or Queue mode, on or off, size limit, launch at login, and whether you have seen the welcome guide) are saved locally on your Mac. They are not sent to us.
Anonymous usage events
CopyPile uses Google Analytics, a service of Google LLC, to count how many people use the app. It sends an event when the app starts, which includes the macOS name and version, and a second event the first time the app is run.
So that one installation is counted once rather than on every launch, CopyPile creates a random identifier the first time it sends an event, saves it in its preferences on your Mac, and includes it with each event. The identifier is generated randomly. It is not based on your Mac's hardware, your Apple Account or any personal information, and we do not combine it with anything that could identify you. The events never contain anything you copied, and CopyPile has no accounts and asks for no personal information.
As with any internet request, Google receives your IP address when an event is sent. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles data. Google Analytics keeps event-level data for at most 14 months. CopyPile works the same if these requests are blocked, for example by a network filter.
We do not sell data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone else.
Purchases
CopyPile is bought through the Mac App Store, and Apple handles the payment. We do not receive your name, Apple Account or payment details.
Permissions
Accessibility. CopyPile asks for Accessibility access only so it can press ⌘ + V for you when you paste. It does not read what is on your screen or record what you type; it only responds to its own keyboard shortcuts.
Notifications. CopyPile may show a notification if it is using a lot of memory, so you can empty it. Notifications are created on your Mac and contain no data from us.
Emails to us
If you email us, we receive your email address and your message and use them only to answer you. We delete them when they are no longer needed for your request.
Legal requests
We may disclose information we hold if we are required to by law or by a request from a competent authority. Because CopyPile never sends us what you copy, that information is limited to emails you have sent us.
This website
copypile.app does not use cookies, analytics or tracking. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP address and browser type, to operate and secure the site.
Children
CopyPile is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Your rights
The usage events are linked only to a random installation identifier, not to your name, email address or Apple Account, so we cannot tell which events are yours. Removing CopyPile together with its preferences discards the identifier, and a reinstall starts with a new one. If you have a question or request about your data, contact us and we will respond.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date above.
